Quote Worth Quoting.....
We'll decide what our projects are. We'll decide what our fundraisers will be. The Club will get behind them 100 Percent, and we'll make recruiting good members our goal!
--Immediate Past President Donna Shupe
Board of Directors Meetings for the Hub Lions Club
The Board of Directors Meetings are usually held at the last Club meeting of each month.
Charities and Programs Supported by the Hub Lions Club
Family Pathfinders - Family Pathfinders will link certain Texans receiving public assistance with a wide range of civic clubs, churches, synagogues and other community organizations throughout the State. The program complements the fine work these organizations already do by helping them target specific families on public assistance and focus on their immediate needs. Some welfare clients may benefit from tips on interviewing for a job, preparing a resume or improving their personal grooming. Others may need guidance on how to apply for a driver's license, organize their time or budget their expenses. Whatever they might need, Texans on public assistance will receive vital support from the surrounding Community.
Texas Lions League for Special Children - Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, Texas hosting one and two week Summer camping sessions for children with physical disabilities or diabetes.
The Texas Lions Foundation - The Foundation supports charitable activities sponsored by the Lions of Texas. Additionally, the Foundation can assist in defraying the costs of any designated disaster.
Leader Dogs for the Blind - Conceived by three Lions from Detroit, Leader Dog has grown to be one of the largest and finest dog guide schools in the world. In a recent year, 304 Leader Dog teams graduated and 304 more blind people went out into the world able to live a life of their own, despite blindness. Located in Rochester, Michigan, over 9,800 Leader Dogs have been trained since the founding of the school in 1939.
Lions Club International Foundation - LCIF is the global charitable arm of Lions International, providing grants to Lions Clubs to enable them to answer needs in their communities. Last year alone, LCIF disbursed grants in excess of $16.7 million to Lions Districts around the world. The Melvin Jones Fellowship Program is a primary means for LCIF to strengthen its financial base. The fellowship is presented to a Lion or other individual for a personal contribution of $1,000 or as a tribute from a Club.
The Salvation Army - is responsible for providing food, clothing and services for families and individuals in need. Scope of services include information and referral services, emergency assistance, employment assistance and volunteer opportunities. In addition, it operates a thrift store. Members of the Hub Club support the Army not only by donation of funds and materials, we "ring the bell" for them in the not-so-warm Christmas season here on the High Plains.
BINGO!
- The Club has conducted "Bingo" games at Lubbock area Retirement Homes
for a number of years now. This activity provides entertainment and perhaps
even a little "extra spending money" for residents and retirees, and was
featured in The Lion magazine,
the official publication of Lions International. Click HERE

Texas Boys Ranch - This great Lubbock institution, caring for young men who are in need of help, benefits from assistance from Lions District 2T2 and the Hub Club. Former Club Director Lion Corky Marshall (now President of the Roaring Springs Lions Club!) currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Boys Ranch.

Texas Lions Camp Texas Lions League for Special Children sponsored camp in Kerrville, Texas, hosting Summer camping sessions for children with physical disabilities or diabetes.
