    SERVICES PROVIDED:

    • Labor market information, including the skills of the area workforce, available job openings, and the education, training, and employment opportunities in the local area, in the state, and as feasible, in the nation;
    • Common intake and eligibility determination for all workforce development programs and services;
    • Independent assessment of individual needs and the development of an individual service strategy;
    • Centralized and continuous case management and counseling;
    • Individual referral for services including basic education, classroom skills training, on-the-job training, and customized training; and
    • Supportive services, including child care, loans, and other forms of financial assistance required to participate in and complete training.
    • Employer services, including assistance with recruiting and screening job applicants, timely and accurate labor market information for identifying pools of skilled labor and information assistance concerning specialized training programs such as Smart Jobs and the Skill Development Fund.

    PURPOSE:

    The Career Centers of Texas System is not a program but the new service delivery system for employment and training programs. This system seeks to offer information and services through customer-friendly techniques using technology in open environment designed to be similar to public libraries. Information is the currency of this new delivery system and it can be accessed through public bulletin boards, voice-response telephone technology and in person.

    FEE STRUCTURE:

    Most services free, some require a fee depending on the nature of the service.
